Shea Colorado is a division of J.F. Shea Co., Inc., a privately held company encompassing multiple industries, including heavy construction, land development, home building, income property development and management, energy, and venture capital. Shea Colorado is a full service real estate company integrating both commercial and residential development, land planning, land development, multi-family development and commercial leasing, and property management. Shea Properties has a portfolio of office, industrial, office/flex, retail and multi-family properties with revenues in excess of $3 billion.
The most recent acquisition was the land holdings and key personnel of the Denver Technological Center and Meridian International Business Center (DTC). Together, the company offers more than 160 years of expertise in the construction industry; more specifically - master-planning, build-to-suit, development management, land sales, commercial leasing and property management.
Shea Colorado capitalizes on local expertise and the financial capacity of the J.F. Shea Company. All day-to-day decisions are made at the local level.
Recognition & Awards
Shea Properties Colorado has been the recipient of many awards. Included are multiple presentations by various groups for Award of Excellence for “Best Office Park in America”, “Real Estate Developer of the Year”, “Office Developer of the Year”, and “Retail Project of the Year”. Other awards include “Outstanding Architectural Certificate”, “Award of Merit for Design and Construction” by the American Concrete Institute and the most recent being “Deal of the Year”.
Denver Technological Center
For more than four decades, the Denver Technological Center has been regarded as the premier business park in Colorado. Having earned and maintained a reputation for careful, managed growth, DTC is committed to preserving and growing its clients’ investments. DTC encompasses 909 acres of mixed-use development (office, retail/commercial, residential and open space) with nearly 16,000,000 square feet of development. Major tenants in DTC include United Airlines, Great West Life, RE/MAX International, various upscale hotels and numerous small to medium sized companies – totaling approximately 1,000.
Highlands Ranch
In the last five years Shea has completed over 1.5 million square feet of speculative and build-to-suit suburban office development within the 400 acre Highlands Ranch Business Park. Shea has also completed four neighborhood grocery anchored retail centers. Most recently Shea Properties completed and fully leased the Highlands Ranch Town Center, a mixed-use project consisting of 180 acres of retail and residential development in the heart of Highlands Ranch. Highlands Ranch build-to-suit clients include Visa, USA and Qwest Communications.
Meridian International Business Center
Meridian International Business Center (“Meridian”) is a 1,694 acre mixed-use park ideally suited for residential, office, retail, and light industrial development. Meridian currently encompasses more than six million square feet of office, retail/commercial, residential and golf course development. This state-of-the-art business park is adjacent to Park Meadows regional mall and more than three million square feet of retail space. Quality housing in several nearby residential areas places Meridian directly in the center of the area’s largest labor pools; next door to Centennial Airport (the second largest general aviation airport in the country) and 30 minutes from Denver International Airport. Meridian allows for a quality campus development that offers companies the ability to operate efficiently today, while still providing maximum flexibility for long-term growth.
Corporate neighbors at Meridian include Liberty Media, American Family Insurance, and EchoStar as well as build-to-suit clients CH2M Hill and First Data Corporation.
Meridian Village
Meridian Village is the last premiere large piece of land in the south Denver metro market, where 810 acres will encompass up to 2,500 homes and 350,000 square feet of commercial development. The property is owned in a partnership with the Bradbury family, a long-standing ranching family in Colorado. Amenities include ample open space and a golf course as well as neighborhood parks and a school.
Reunion
Reunion, Shea’s newest master-planned community in the Denver market is a 3,100-acre mixed-use community located at E-470 and 104th Avenue, just west of Denver International Airport. Entitlements for the community include flexible zoning for more than 15,000 residential units and nearly 950 acres of mixed-use commercial space, including business park, light industrial and regional and neighborhood retail uses.
